Probably one of the most beautiful and relevant icons on wood painted with acrylic on prepared wooden panel and finished in a very special technique, the one I used on most of my icons to try and give the work an antique look and feel. My artwork is very close to the original icon which inspired me to pay such great attention to detail, design and chromatic palette.

No photo can do real justice to my work, but once you are in front of this icon you will feel the mystery, the message, the beauty and the hope. The Message is there!

My work was inspired by an old Russian icon on wood from the first half of the 13th Century or early 14th Century. Old Russian iconography school.
 
The back of the icon was reinforced with wood cross-bracing, finished with multiple layers of varnish and polished with beeswax.
