A beautiful and unique icon of Archangel Michael; this time my inspiration came from an old Greek iconography school, totally different from the Old Russian style but both under Byzantine influence. I followed the world of Greek iconography being true to design and palette and the hard work in finishing the icon using a special technique, giving the impression of an old icon.
The icon was painted on a recycled wooden board in acrylic, and the board was reinforced with a heavy frame and crossed bracing typical for old icons, then finished with protective varnish and polished with beeswax.
