Another classic Romanian icon on glass, using the reverse technique, inspired by the Master of naïve icons, Savu Moga (1816-1899).

On this icon, I used gold for the background, staying close to the chromatic of the old icon.

The icon was painted with acrylic and oil and the glass is protected in the frame with fine cut old recycled wood.

Savu Moga was extremely prolific, dedicating his life to creating icons for village churches and for people for private use. His work and interpretation of Byzantine and Russian iconography is truly remarkable.
